| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned Gothic initial 'M' for Manuel I, the letter surmounted by a royal crown rendered in the late Gothic style typical of early sixteenth-century Portuguese hammered coinage. The crowned monogram is set within a raised inner circle. The surrounding marginal legend in Latin runs along the coin's periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded or plain inner border. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period. |

| Reverse description | Central field features the Portuguese royal arms arranged in a cross formation: four escutcheons charged with five bezants (quinas), positioned at the cardinal points around a small central shield, all within a raised inner circle. This heraldic device is characteristic of the Manueline period cinquinho coinage. The marginal legend in Latin references João II, identifying this piece as a hybrid coin struck with dies from two different reigns. The flan is irregular with weakness at the edges, as expected of hammered silver of this denomination. |
