The Alpha (A) and Omega (ω) flank the base of the Christogram to left and right respectively, referencing the Book of Revelation. The surrounding legend SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES proclaims the health and salvation of the emperors, while the mint mark AMB appears in the exergue, identifying the Ambianum (Amiens) mint. A palm branch is visible to the lower right of the exergual inscription, a further embellishment characteristic of this issue. |
