| Descrizione del rovescio | A large Chi-Rho Christogram (☧) occupies the central field, formed by the superimposition of the Greek letters Chi (Χ) and Rho (Ρ), the monogram of Christ prominently adopted by Magnentius as a propagandistic religious symbol. The Alpha (A) and Omega (ω) flank the base of the Christogram to left and right respectively, referencing the Book of Revelation. The surrounding legend SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES proclaims the health and salvation of the emperors, while the mint mark AMB appears in the exergue, identifying the Ambianum (Amiens) mint. A palm branch is visible to the lower right of the exergual inscription, a further embellishment characteristic of this issue. |
