| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged horizontally, reading the mint and regnal year formula. The text is enclosed within the same ornate interlacing floral and vine border as the obverse, with blossoms and leafy tendrils framing the legend on all sides. At the top of the inscription appears the regnal year number (such as ٣٠ for year 30 of the reign), followed by the mint formula 'ضرب في قسطنطينية' (struck in Constantinople), and at the base the accession year ١٢٢٣ (AH 1223, the year of Mahmud II's accession). The calligraphy is crisp and well-struck, characteristic of the reformed Ottoman milled coinage introduced in this period. |
