| Reverse description | Saint George on horseback is depicted in right profile, clad in full armour and bearing a lance or sword, in the act of slaying a dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The composition fills the central field dynamically, with the horse rearing and the dragon writhing below. The treatment is vigorous and typical of late 15th-century North Italian hammered silver coinage. A circular Latin legend naming the saint runs around the periphery. The overall strike is bold with characteristic irregularity of a hammered flan. |
