Below the legend, further decorative or textual elements appear in a stylized, loosely executed manner typical of hammered provincial issues. A cluster of pellets or a rosette motif is visible in the upper portion of the field. The flan is irregular in shape and shows the rough edges characteristic of hand-cut billon planchets used in early nineteenth-century Abu ʽArish coinage. |
