Reverse description The reverse displays a two-line Arabic mint and date legend reading 'darb 1223' (Struck in 1223 AH), arranged horizontally across the center of the flan. Below the legend, further decorative or textual elements appear in a stylized, loosely executed manner typical of hammered provincial issues. A cluster of pellets or a rosette motif is visible in the upper portion of the field. The flan is irregular in shape and shows the rough edges characteristic of hand-cut billon planchets used in early nineteenth-century Abu ʽArish coinage.
