| 表面の説明 | Central field bears the elaborate Ottoman tughra of Sultan Mahmud II (AH 1223–1252 / 1808–1839), rendered in highly stylized Arabic calligraphy with characteristic looping and interlacing strokes. The tughra is enclosed within a decorative cartouche, surrounded by an ornamental floral border. An outer band of Arabic legends encircles the central device, typical of the Algerian Regency coinage of this period. The milled edge is clearly visible on the coin's periphery. |

The Regency of Algiers struck this piece in the final months before the French invasion of June 1830 — a military expedition launched partly as a diplomatic distraction by the increasingly unpopular Charles X. By the time the city fell on July 5th, the Regency's coinage authority effectively ceased. Surviving examples from this terminal issue rarely show heavy wear for the obvious reason that circulation was cut brutally short.
