| Beschrijving voorzijde | A griffin passant to the right occupies the central field, depicted in the characteristically stylised Late Iron Age Celtic manner with elongated body, outstretched wings rendered as a series of flowing parallel lines, and a hooked beak. The creature's legs and tail are shown with energetic, almost abstract linear detailing typical of Catuvellaunian bronze coinage. The abbreviated mint signature CAMV appears in the upper field, flanked by a beaded border running around the irregular flan. The overall composition is bold and dynamic, consistent with the workshop tradition of Camulodunum under Cunobelin. |
