正面描述 Irregular, roughly circular flan of hammered bronze displaying a stylized abstract design in the Celtic tradition. The central field bears a vertical column of pellets arranged in a linear sequence, flanked to the right by a schematic zoomorphic or anthropomorphic motif rendered in the debased La Tène style characteristic of late Belgic coinage. The divided legend CAI TIO is distributed across the field, the letters executed in a cursive, somewhat irregular manner typical of Atrebatian bronzes of this period. The overall relief is low and the flan surface shows patchy green patination consistent with ancient burial.

附加信息

The Atrebates occupied territory spanning what is now the Pas-de-Calais region, and by the mid-first century BC their coinage was being struck under direct pressure from Caesar's Gallic campaigns. The inscription CAITIO AMANDI likely records a magistrate or issuing authority by name — a relatively rare epigraphic practice among Belgic tribes, most of whom struck anonymous bronzes. Whether Caitios Amandos held a civic or military function is unresolved in the scholarship.

Scheers's classification in the Belgian series places this type within a tight regional group sharing fabric and module.
