| Obverse description | Irregular, roughly circular flan of hammered bronze displaying a stylized abstract design in the Celtic tradition. The central field bears a vertical column of pellets arranged in a linear sequence, flanked to the right by a schematic zoomorphic or anthropomorphic motif rendered in the debased La Tène style characteristic of late Belgic coinage. The divided legend CAI TIO is distributed across the field, the letters executed in a cursive, somewhat irregular manner typical of Atrebatian bronzes of this period. The overall relief is low and the flan surface shows patchy green patination consistent with ancient burial. |
