| Descrizione del dritto | Central field displays the double-headed eagle of Groningen displayed within a beaded inner circle, its wings spread and body facing forward in heraldic style. The eagle, a symbol of civic authority, is rendered in the Gothic pictorial tradition typical of late medieval Low Countries municipal coinage. The device is set against a plain field and enclosed by a continuous beaded border. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial characters reads around the full circumference of the coin between the inner and outer beaded borders. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field features a plain cross pattée within a beaded inner circle, with a six-pointed star or mullet in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross, a design characteristic of late medieval Groningen civic issues. The cross is boldly struck in the Gothic hammered tradition, occupying the full width of the inner circle. Between the inner and outer beaded borders, the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial script records the year of issue and a devotional invocation. The overall design reflects the standard type of the Groningen braspenning of the 1437–1438 emission. |
