Obverse description A heraldic eagle displayed with wings fully spread, rendered in high relief against the uniface bracteate field. The bird is depicted in a frontal posture with head turned, the feathers of the wings rendered in schematic stylized fashion characteristic of late 13th-century Carinthian bracteate coinage. The design is contained within a raised inner beaded or plain border, itself enclosed by a wider, thinner outer rim. The overall style is bold and somewhat crude, consistent with provincial hammered bracteate production of the period.
