Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features a quartered royal shield of France and Dauphine, displaying fleurs-de-lis and a dolphin, surmounted by a rayed sun — the distinctive emblem of the Dauphine — positioned immediately above the escutcheon. The shield is set within a rounded inner circle bordered by a dotted or beaded ring. The circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering reads KAROLVS FRAnCOR REX DEI, identifying Charles VIII as King of the Franks. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, as is characteristic of late medieval hammered billon coinage.

Opschrift voorzijde KAROLVS FRAnCOR REX DEI
(Translation: Charles, King of the Franks.)
Beschrijving keerzijde A bold floriated long cross divides the field into four cantons, each charged with alternating fleurs-de-lis and dolphins — the heraldic emblems of France and Dauphine respectively — in a typical arrangement for Dauphinois coinage of Charles VIII. The cross arms are slightly flared at the terminals, consistent with late 15th-century French hammered billon types. An inner beaded circle encloses the central design, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering reading SIT nOmEn DnI BEnEDICVM. The flan is irregular with some weakness at the rim, consistent with hand-struck production.
