| Description du revers | A bold floriated long cross divides the field into four cantons, each charged with alternating fleurs-de-lis and dolphins — the heraldic emblems of France and Dauphine respectively — in a typical arrangement for Dauphinois coinage of Charles VIII. The cross arms are slightly flared at the terminals, consistent with late 15th-century French hammered billon types. An inner beaded circle encloses the central design, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering reading SIT nOmEn DnI BEnEDICVM. The flan is irregular with some weakness at the rim, consistent with hand-struck production. |
