As with the obverse, the script is frequently debased or pseudo-Arabic, reflecting the imitative nature of this third-type Saracen bezant struck at Acre. The arrangement emulates Fatimid dinar prototypes, serving primarily as a commercial instrument for trade in the eastern Mediterranean. |
