The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with emergency or provincial hammered production. The portraiture, though provincial in execution, conveys imperial gravitas befitting the usurper's claims. |

The circular legend CONSERVATOR AVG, meaning 'Protector of the Emperor', runs around the beaded border, asserting the usurper's divine mandate. No exergual inscription is present. |
