| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed bust of Bonus Eventus facing right, rendered in fine relief with naturalistic, wavy hair swept back from the forehead in a style typical of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian artistic convention. The portrait is unadorned and idealized, without wreath or diadem, conveying a divine or allegorical rather than imperial character. The legend BON EVENT arcs along the right field, identifying the personification as Bonus Eventus, the Roman deity of good fortune and successful enterprise. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck gold coinage of the Year of the Four Emperors period. The overall workmanship reflects the Rome Mint's output during the turbulent interregnum of 68–69 AD. |
