| Beschrijving keerzijde | Jupiter, fully nude save for a chlamys draped over his left shoulder, stands facing left in a commanding pose. In his extended right hand he holds a small Victory mounted on a globe, symbolizing dominion over the world, while his left hand leans upon a long vertical sceptre. At his feet to the left, an eagle stands with outstretched wings clutching a wreath in its beak, the traditional attribute of Jupiter as king of the gods. A letter appears in the right field, and the mintmark with officina designation is placed in the exergue. The composition follows the canonical Jovian iconography of the Tetrarchic and early Constantinian coinage, reinforcing the divine protection of the imperial house. |
