At his feet to the left, an eagle stands with outstretched wings clutching a wreath in its beak, the traditional attribute of Jupiter as king of the gods. A letter appears in the right field, and the mintmark with officina designation is placed in the exergue. The composition follows the canonical Jovian iconography of the Tetrarchic and early Constantinian coinage, reinforcing the divine protection of the imperial house. |
