| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristic curly hair and short beard, the laurel wreath clearly articulated across the brow. The portrait exhibits the restrained classicising style typical of Hadrianic coinage, with strong facial modelling and a firm, composed expression. The circumferential Latin legend runs from the lower left, encircling the bust within the coin's irregular flan. |

| Reverse description | The nude figure of Neptune stands facing left in the centre of the field, his weight shifted onto his right leg in a classical contrapposto stance. In his extended right hand he holds a small dolphin, emblematic of his dominion over the seas, while his left hand rests upon a long trident, its tines visible at the upper right of the field. The deity is rendered with fine musculature in the Hellenistic tradition, reflecting Hadrian's well-known philhellenism. The Latin legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, with the letters P M to the left and TR P COS III to the right. |
