| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hercules standing facing within a tetrastyle temple or shrine, nude and muscular, flanked by two smaller standing figures — likely attendants or deities — one to his left and one to his right, all depicted within a columned architectural framework surmounted by a decorated entablature bearing the letters RP in the tympanum. Below the temple podium, a stepped platform (suggestive of a sacrificial altar or temple steps) is rendered in perspective, with additional small objects or figures at the base on either side. The reverse legend is divided across the field to either side of the temple colonnade. The composition reflects Hadrian's well-documented veneration of Hercules as an imperial patron deity. |
