| Description de l’avers | Bare-headed and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with his characteristic short, tightly curled hair and full beard — a distinctive iconographic innovation for a Roman emperor. The effigy is rendered in high relief with naturalistic, classicising modelling typical of Hadrianic court die-cutters. The field legend COS III is disposed in two lines to the right of the equestrian figure, with the letters S and O visible to the lower left, forming the full legend around the design.
