| Obverse description | Bare-headed and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with his characteristic short, tightly curled hair and full beard — a distinctive iconographic innovation for a Roman emperor. The effigy is rendered in high relief with naturalistic, classicising modelling typical of Hadrianic court die-cutters. The surrounding Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, disposed clockwise around the periphery of the flan within a border of dots. |

| Reverse description | The emperor on horseback prancing to the right, depicted bare-chested and in military attire, raising his right hand in a gesture of salutation or adlocutio while holding the reins in his left hand. The horse is shown in a vigorous rearing posture, conveying imperial authority and martial virtue. The field legend COS III is disposed in two lines to the right of the equestrian figure, with the letters S and O visible to the lower left, forming the full legend around the design. The composition evokes the traditional Roman iconography of the adventus or profectio type. |
