At his feet to the left stands an eagle, the god's sacred attribute, facing right with wings folded. The composition affirms the divine protection of Jupiter over the Caesar, a central ideological theme of Diocletian's Tetrarchy. The mint mark SMAΞ appears in the exergue, denoting the Antioch mint (Sacra Moneta Antiochiae), officina Ξ (sixth workshop).
