| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Maximinus Daia facing right, draped at the shoulder, set within a beaded border. The portrait displays the characteristic Tetrarchic style with a strong, naturalistically rendered profile, short-cropped hair beneath a laurel wreath, and a clean-shaven jaw. The obverse legend MAXIMINVS NOB C, identifying the emperor as Caesar (Nobilissimus Caesar), runs clockwise around the bust. The high-relief modelling of the face and neck reflects the accomplished die-cutting of the Trier mint workshop. |
