| Obverse description | Central field bearing a stylized depiction of a castle or tower rendered in bold, crude strokes characteristic of hammered Crimean coinage. The fortress motif is surrounded by a circular Latin legend, partially legible on this irregularly shaped flan. The overall composition is typical of Genoese-influenced civic coinage struck at Kaffa during the mid-fifteenth century. |
