| 裏面の説明 | Central field occupied by a Tatar tamgha, the dynastic heraldic device of the ruling Khan, rendered in bold strokes within a circular boundary. The tamgha is surrounded by an Arabic legend in the outer zone, recording the name and titles of Dawlat Berdi Khan in the cursive script typical of Crimean Khanate coinage of the early fifteenth century. The design reflects the bicultural nature of Caffan coinage, combining Genoese civic authority on the obverse with Tatar suzerainty acknowledged on the reverse. Strike is typical of hammered issues, with some weakness at the periphery. |
