Each standard is surmounted by a disk and decorated with phalerae, conveying the triumphal character of the type. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears prominently in the left and right fields, authorizing the bronze coinage. The overall composition is bold and well-centred within the irregular hammered flan, covered with a uniform dark green patina. |
