背面描述 The Genius Populi Romani standing left in the field, depicted as a togate male figure sacrificing from a patera held over a lighted altar at his right, while his left arm supports a cornucopiae, symbolising abundance and the prosperity of the Roman people. The reverse legend is divided across the field, with S C flanking the central design as the senatorial authorization mark. A beaded border encircles the composition.

附加信息

Titus reigned for just over two years — the shortest reign of any Flavian emperor — yet his time encompassed the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, a devastating fire in Rome, and an outbreak of plague, all in rapid succession. Roman authors generally portrayed him as responding generously to each disaster, and the coinage of his reign reflects an active effort to project civic stability and divine favor during genuinely catastrophic circumstances. The Genius type belongs squarely within that program.
