Aanvullende informatie

Titus reigned for just over two years — the shortest reign of any Flavian emperor — yet his time encompassed the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, a devastating fire in Rome, and an outbreak of plague, all in rapid succession. Roman authors generally portrayed him as responding generously to each disaster, and the coinage of his reign reflects an active effort to project civic stability and divine favor during genuinely catastrophic circumstances. The Genius type belongs squarely within that program.
