The figure is rendered in a formal, frontal-facing seated posture typical of provincial imperial iconography associating the empress with the goddess Pax or Iustitia. The Latin civic legend M M IVL VTI D D P P is disposed in the field to the left and right of the enthroned figure, referencing the municipal authority of Utica and the decree of the local senate. The reverse fabric shows characteristic irregularities of a provincially struck hammered bronze flan. |
