The effigy is rendered in the idealised manner befitting an imperial divus, consistent with the Augustan iconographic tradition perpetuated under Tiberius. The surrounding legend reads DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER with the mint abbreviation C T T (Colonia Triumphalis Tarraco) completing the legend in the field or exergual area.
