Obverse description Bare head of Tiberius facing left, rendered in the restrained classical style characteristic of early Julio-Claudian portraiture. The effigy presents a firm, idealized profile with closely cropped hair indicated by shallow incised strokes across the crown. The encircling legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, reading clockwise from the left field. The flan shows the typical irregular outline of a hammered bronze as, with a dark olive-brown patina obscuring some surface detail.
