The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears prominently in the field, flanking the central figure, asserting the Senate's nominal authority over the bronze coinage. The reverse field and design are heavily obscured by thick green cuprite and malachite encrustation resulting from long-term soil exposure. The composition follows the standard iconographic programme established for Neronian asses of this type (RIC I 542). |
