Galba's reign lasted seven months before his murder on the Palatine Hill in January 69 AD — the first emperor to fall in the Year of the Four Emperors. His bronze issues are accordingly scarce, and RIC I 307 is among the more difficult senatorial bronzes of the period to locate in any grade.
