| Opis rewersu | Three military standards arranged side by side in the field, each topped with a decorative finial and displaying a round medallion or phalera on the shaft, the whole composition set within a wreath-like decorative border. The central standard is slightly taller and flanked symmetrically by the two outer standards, evoking themes of military authority and imperial legitimacy. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in large letters in the left and right fields respectively, divided by the arrangement of standards. The overall design is bold and deeply struck in the hammered bronze flan. |
