| Obverse description | Bare-headed laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with a strongly characterised, aged physiognomy consistent with imperial portraiture of the Julio-Claudian transitional period. The bust is draped, with finely rendered folds of the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. A beaded border frames the design. The encircling legend reads IMP SER GALBA AVG TR P, distributed around the periphery in incuse Latin capitals. |

| Reverse description | Three military standards arranged side by side in the field, each topped with a decorative finial and displaying a round medallion or phalera on the shaft, the whole composition set within a wreath-like decorative border. The central standard is slightly taller and flanked symmetrically by the two outer standards, evoking themes of military authority and imperial legitimacy. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in large letters in the left and right fields respectively, divided by the arrangement of standards. The overall design is bold and deeply struck in the hammered bronze flan. |
