Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized portraiture characteristic of early Imperial colonial bronzes. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive facial features with close-cropped hair arranged in the Augustan manner. A circumferential Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, as is typical of provincially struck hammered bronzes of this period.
