Beschrijving voorzijde Bare head of Divus Augustus facing right, rendered with fine curly hair and a naturalistic portrait in the Julio-Claudian tradition. The effigy occupies the central field with the encircling Latin legend reading DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER around the periphery. The portrait style echoes the idealized imagery established during Augustus's reign, here adapted for posthumous commemorative use. The coin's broad flan and hammered fabric are characteristic of Trajanic-era restitution issues.

Beschrijving keerzijde A large rectangular altar rendered in three-quarter perspective occupies the central field, depicted with a paneled front door and flanking pilasters, surmounted by a decorated cornice with floral or acanthus ornament at the apex. The altar rests upon a two- or three-stepped base, conveying architectural solidity. The senatorial authorization mark S C appears prominently in the lower field, divided on either side of the altar's base. The encircling legend, partially visible around the upper and left periphery, records Nerva's restitution of this Augustan type. This reverse type closely follows the original Augustan altar as, underscoring the restitution coinage's deliberate archaizing intent.
