| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled in the characteristic Severan fashion, with a central parting and tight curls framing the face and a large bun at the nape. The empress is depicted with drapery visible at the truncation of the bust. The encircling Greek legend reads ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΔΟΜΝΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying her as Augusta. |
