The effigy displays the youthful features characteristic of Caracalla's early Alexandrian portraiture. The circumferential Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛ ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ around the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial Egyptian tetradrachms of this period. |
