The portrait displays Hadrian's characteristic short curly beard and laureate wreath, executed in the fine Alexandrian style. The surrounding legend in Greek characters reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Traianus Hadrianus Sebastos. The imperial consort is depicted with a diadem and draped in a finely rendered garment, the folds of which are visible at the truncation. The surrounding legend ϹΑΒΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ identifies the empress, while the regnal date L ΙΓ (Year 13) in the left field dates the issue to the 13th year of Hadrian's reign (128–129 AD).
