The paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder, and the muscled cuirass is depicted in detail at the truncation. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the obverse field in a continuous circular inscription. The portrait displays the hallmark physiognomy of Hadrian with his characteristic full beard and wavy hair, reflecting the Hellenized artistic conventions of the Pontic mint. |
