AR24 - Hadrian L Γ

This is a Year 3 issue from Hadrian's Alexandria mint, struck in the immediate aftermath of the Jewish revolt suppression and Hadrian's early reorganization of Roman Egypt's administrative structure. The regnal year dating system used at Alexandria — unique among Roman provincial mints — means this piece can be pinned to a twelve-month window with unusual precision, something most provincial silver cannot offer.

Milne 605 places it among the earlier Hadrianic tetradrachms before the silver content began its gradual but measurable decline across subsequent regnal years.
