Flanking him on either side stand the Dioscuri (Castor and Pollux), each crowned with a star-topped pileus, facing forward with heads turned toward Sarapis, and each holding a whip. The composition emphasises the divine triad venerated in Alexandria, with the figures rendered in a frontal hieratic style. The regnal date L Κ (year 20, corresponding to 156–157 AD) appears in the field. |
