The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, reading Π ΛΙΚ ΚΟΡ ΟΥΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the young prince as Publius Licinius Cornelius Valerianus Caesar Augustus. The flan is somewhat irregular, characteristic of Alexandrian billon tetradrachm production of this period. |
