| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Empress Tranquillina facing right, wearing a diadem, depicted in the typical Alexandrian provincial style. The effigy is rendered with a finely draped paludamentum over the right shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the bust, reading ϹΑΒ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΛΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying the empress with her imperial titles. The coin's fabric and flan are characteristic of Alexandrian billon tetradrachm coinage of the reign of Gordian III. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Eagle standing to the left with head turned to the right, holding a wreath in its beak, a common reverse type for Alexandrian tetradrachms of the Gordian III era. The eagle is rendered in the typical provincial style, with wings closed and tail feathers visible. To either side of the eagle appear the date letters L (regnal year symbol) and Ε (numeral 5), denoting Year 5 of Gordian III's reign, corresponding to 241–242 AD. The field is plain, and the overall style is consistent with the Alexandrian mint's output of this period. |
