The portrait is rendered in the typical Alexandrian style, with a finely beaded laurel wreath crowning the emperor's head and characteristic facial features of the mature Antoninus Pius. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹ(Ε)Β, identifying the emperor with his title Sebastos Eusebes. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Nilus, the personification of the River Nile, depicted reclining to the left upon a crocodile. The god holds a tall cornucopia in his left arm, from which emerges a small Genius or Agathodaimon figure holding a wreath; a reed stalk is also present in the composition. The date regnal year L ΙΗ (year 18, corresponding to 154–155 AD) appears in the field, a standard dating convention on Alexandrian coinage of the imperial period. |
