The emperor wears a laurel wreath and military cuirass with paludamentum. The surrounding Greek legend reads Α Κ Μ ΟΥΑ ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Augustus. The die work is bold, with strong relief typical of the Alexandrian mint workshop. |
